This photo doesn't do the transformation nearly enough justice. It's like we have a brand new limestone mantle! Except for the scotch tape residue revealed by the cleaning. While I hadn't gone in for the totally hardcore cleaning chemicals, I had unsuccessfully tried several remedies for removing 70 years of baked on soot. And my little Magic Eraser just took it right off!! I am so unbelievably excited about this. Am I a sad, sad person? Probably.
