Prevent

We spent way too much time last night on some meaningless homework for Katherine. It was a brain teaser worksheet. If the teacher needs to give them some busywork during the week, fine (kind of). But making them complete it at home seems pointless.

One side of the worksheet was making words with dollar values. A is $1, B is $2, up to Z ($26). There were $10, $20, $50, $100, $101-150, and $151-$200 categories. Since the lower categories were single dollar amounts instead of ranges, we decided to take it literally and only find words with those exact dollar amounts. It was difficult enough that Mr. FizzyLizzy created a little Excel spreadsheet that would automatically calculate the total for a word typed in. I challenge you to find a word worth exactly $100. "Prevent" was the only one I could come up with. And that came to me lying awake at 5:15 a.m. I also challenge you to find words worth more than $150--"transistor" is one.
