Fifth Grade Fun Day
This afternoon is "Fifth Grade Fun Day" at Katherine's school. She's miffed that they don't get to do an "off campus" event like the 6th, 7th, & 8th graders. (Of course next week is the infamous "no-I-don't-want-you-to-chaperone" field trip up north, that I am chaperoning.) I've enjoyed her being "little" again this year in her big-girl sort of way. And I think the idea of Fifth Grade Fun Day is extremely cute, even if she doesn't.
Update: While driving to pick up Katherine from FGFD William said, "I can't wait until I'm in fifth grade and can go to Fifth Grade Fun Day."

Quel Weekend!
My dad and I drove down to Chicago last weekend to meet Tom & Ildi, who had flown in from Warsaw to buy engagement rings and a wedding gown. After five hours of shopping on the Magnificent Mile, Ildi and I finally had success finding a dress and cooled our heels at Neiman Marcus. I wish I could show you this stunning woman in the gorgeous dress, but I didn't photograph it...and even if I had, the groom reads this blog.
Hiányzol.

You decide
Young Saudi women. Purity Ball. Is there really that much difference in the goals of these families?

Car Spotting
No photo 'cause I was on my bike, but I saw my first U.S. Smart Car in operation. Bravo!

Are you like me?
Are you watching your tape of Survivor right now? Do you feel like you're watching George Costanza on Seinfeld? Do you feel like you just can't watch Erik any longer so you went to go post on your blog? If you answered yes to these questions then, yes, you're like me.
